  • Health - Chase Farm Hospital - The works involved an extension appended to an existing ward with alterations. The site was situated within an already landscaped area with challenging access. Adjacent to the site were Surgical Theatres and a MRI Unit, which were fully functional throughout the project duration. The construction consisted of complex substructure works including the construction of 23 no. augured piles with associated ground beams to support pre cast concrete floor slabs. These had to be carefully planned due to restricted access for craneage.The superstructure works comprised of structural steel columns tied into a, Metsec steel roof proprietary lattice system. The envelope of the building was made up of a timber frame construction with a skin of facing brickwork with aluminium sash windows.  The roof finishes were made up of timber with asphalt incorporating a rooflight feature above reception area.The works also included detailed mechanical and electrical installation relating to Nurse Call Systems and Medical Gases.
